The ComplyWise business is based on customers being at the heart of everything we do, valuing and developing our personnel and building a service platform for sustainable growth.

Background

The first compliance-related training project was for a Financial Services client who required an effective way of delivering health and safety training to all their computer users. From this initial project, the concept of delivering auditable compliance training over company networks evolved.

Seven key design requirements were highlighted that are still relevant to ComplyWise's product development criteria today:

  • The training should be easy to complete and simple to understand.
  • Deliverable to all PCs on a client's network, using minimal network resource.
  • Provide 'awareness' training in accordance with legislation and legal guidelines.
  • Be updateable to cater for changes/amendments in law and guidelines.
  • Include client contacts and organisation-specific procedures.
  • Contain a client-controlled management system to accommodate organisational change (new departments/locations, etc.).
  • Full audit trail provision, with completion dates and assessment scores recorded.

HealthWise

ComplyWise gained a reputation for delivering highly effective compliance-related health and safety training and risk assessment management systems. A suite of 5 products was developed and maintained initially for local area networks, and then for intranet and hosted delivery:

ComplyWise introduced 8 new product titles. These included 4 health and safety training courses (added to the existing HealthWise range) and a new suite of work practise-related programs called WorkWise.

A range of industry specific compliance training was then developed including:

Audit+

Audit+ is the compliance and learning management platform for all ComplyWise systems. Although easy to use Audit+ is a sophisticated management tool with a high level of switchable functionality. The system can be easily configured to accommodate a multitude of different client requirements. ComplyWise are continually evolving Audit+ to accommodate new products and services.

Scheduler+

Scheduler+ was launched in 2007 to further reduce the administrative burden of compliance management.

Scheduler+ dramatically reduces the resource and time it takes to roll-out training and risk assessment by using automated e-mail generation to inform any number of branch locations, divisions and departments. The system can automatically query the record database and ensure individuals who do not respond are sent further e-mails, until 100% completion is achieved.

BespokeWise

The BespokeWise service was also launched in 2007 and is ideal for clients that have in-house training content they want developed into e-learning courses.

A template is provided that enables clients to enter their own organisation's training content. This template is easy to use and enables ComplyWise to develop client-specific training efficiently and cost effectively. Bespoke courses are fully integrated within the Audit+ records management system.

Examples of organisation specific course content that has been developed includes,

  • Contract bidding procedures
  • Internal project management
  • Dispute resolution and disciplinary procedures
  • Induction training

Technically speaking

All ComplyWise training and risk assessment programs run over a typical company Intranet with minimum specification and do not require plug-ins (such as Macromedia Flash or Shockwave). All courses are available as SCORM 1.2 conformant, to run on any Learning Management System (LMS) supporting the standard.

Most clients operate the Audit+ Management System with a Microsoft® SQL Server database. However, Audit+ is also designed to operate with Microsoft® Access.

As well as providing the products for installation on a client’s own server for deployment across the client's Intranet, ComplyWise provides a robust hosting service using 3 facilities based in the city of London, UK .

ComplyWise’s hosted service can be integrated with a client’s IT systems to provide seamless implementation of the compliance training, risk assessment and management system.
