• How does this system help to ensure my organisation's compliance with government regulations?

  The HealthWise and WorkWise programs help organisations fulfil their obligations and comply with the law. Content is based on the legal directives and guidelines of the relevant authorities for each subject area (e.g. Information Commission, Financial Services Association and Health & Safety Executive).

• How can this system help me do my job more effectively?

  The system provides a complete audit trail with reports that clearly show:

  • personnel that have completed a training course or risk assessment those who have completed risk assessments with outstanding concerns
  • those where concerns have been resolved
  • In addition, as the system can be populated by a client’s directory or database and has extensive search facilities, a verification report of who has and who has not completed a risk assessment or training course (within any area) can be generated.

  Some client organisations prefer to obtain this information by querying data from the Audit+ database and then comparing it against an external database or directory.

• Is the system flexible enough to accommodate my organisation's specific policies and information requirements?

  The entire range of products is customisable. For example, you may provide local information such as contact details, emergency exit location maps or your specific policies on the issues covered in the training. You may also grant different levels of manager access to records, delegate risk assessment concerns to any number of managers, restrict course views, send out email reminders, track system usage and much more.

• What is the difference between hosted and intranet delivery?

  In both cases the training is delivered directly to the employee's own PC. Intranet delivery means the training software is installed on your corporate intranet and supported by your IT department. Hosted delivery means the software is located on a website managed and supported by ComplyWise.

• How much does it cost?

  The cost of a product licence is based on the total number of PCs physically attached to the company's network. It is important that this is not confused with cost per user or cost per usage (as this would significantly increase the overall cost).

Line Managers FAQs

• How does it affect me?

  Increasingly, the law is making managers more accountable for the welfare of their employees. Training is essential for increased protection against litigation and improving staff welfare.

• How often does the training (or risk assessment) have to be completed?

  Legal requirements vary, for example, DSE Risk Assessment must be done when a PC user changes their workstation or type of work; Money Laundering Prevention training is required to be undertaken annually (Financial Services only); while Fire Safety guidelines recommend that everyone should complete awareness training annually.

• What is the impact on my staff?

  Staff response is very positive and the benefits of the training to staff are outlined within the courses. The courses are designed to provide a fast and easy way to complete the training and are delivered over the company network to each individual’s workstation. The training courses have minimal impact on daily work schedules.

  The impact on staff is further improved by customising text within courses to include relevant Health & Safety procedures and contacts within the organisation.

Users FAQs

• How long does a course take?

  Courses are designed to take approximately 20 minutes. Users can leave a training course at any stage and, at a later date, resume where they had left off.

• How easy is it to complete?

  Very easy. The programs are user-friendly in operation and designed to allow you to be in comfortable control of your own training.

• Is there a test?

  There is a simple multiple-choice test at the end of each course to confirm user understanding. Results are recorded along with the completion date to provide a compliance audit trail.

I.T. FAQs

• What do I need to run the training and management system?

  The system runs over a typical company Intranet with minimum specification and requires no specialised plug-ins (such as Flash or Shockwave).

  ComplyWise's products use HTML, JavaScript, cookies, Active Server Pages, ODBC and SQL technologies and therefore utilises an ASP-capable server i.e. IIS on Windows NT/2000/XP and Microsoft® SQL Server (or PWS on W98 with Microsoft® Access – not recommended for enterprise systems). The complete suite of programs occupies about 35MB of disk space and 62.5 Kbytes per record of database storage space.

  The client-side requirement is a web browser with cookies and JavaScript enabled.

  About 5MB is accessed by each browser during a 20-25 minute training session. Branch offices with low bandwidth connections can host the content locally with a permanent network connection over which to pass data to and from the database (or with data stored locally).

  You may test your network and web server for responsiveness using ComplyWise's evaluation site.

  Once the courses and management system has been physically installed, selecting the required options (such as log-on dropdown menus and certificate printing) takes only a few minutes using the convenient setup utility that is shipped with the package. The setup utility also maintains location-specific contact details and dropdown menus.

• How will running the system affect my network?

  The system is not resource demanding and does not place a significant burden on the network. About 5MB is accessed by each browser during a 20-25 minute training and risk assessment session. Branch offices with low bandwidth connections can host the content locally with a permanent network connection over which to pass data to and from the database (or with data stored locally).

• What sort of maintenance and support is required?

  Very little intervention is required once the system has been installed. The system usually ships complete with any localised text changes requested by your Course Coordinator.

  Standard updates are available as downloads or shipped on CD-ROM. Functionality enhancements, requiring changes to the database definition, will involve running a script that will not affect existing data.

  Password-protected web page report listings with drill-down URL links assist supervisors to access all the information they require. Conceivably the coordinator could request ad hoc reports from the database. This could be undertaken by modifying existing ASP code queries, or by using database tools to compare the Audit+ database with another client database or directory.
