Regulatory requirements

This course provides food hygiene awareness training in accordance with the following three key laws that all organisations serving food must be aware of and follow.

The Food Safety Act 1990
This is the most important and comprehensive Act for securing food safety and are applicable to all business dealing with food in Great Britain

The Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995
These regulations cover all food premises not covered by specific legislation (such as dairies and slaughterhouses) and require all food premises to be operated hygienically

The Food Safety ( Temperature Control) Regulations 1995
these regulations determine what foods must be kept chilled in the refrigerator and at what temperature.

The UK Food Standards Agency is the organisation established by an Act of Parliament to "protect the public health from risks which may arise in connection with the consumption of food, and other wise to protect the interests of consumers in relation to food".

The UK Food Standards Agency say: "Good hygiene is important to make sure that the food you serve is safe to eat. And it makes good business sense because good hygiene prevents food poisoning and protects your reputation with customers".

This training program helps your organisation fulfil this legal obligation. Training records may be maintained for years and are available for interrogation at anytime from any PC on your network when the program is used with the Audit+ Records Management System.
