“Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust is the provider of healthcare services for South East Wales, servicing a population of around 600,000, employing around 11,500 staff and covering a wide range of medical services from Acute, Community, Psychiatric and Mental Health. We evaluated many products, some of them were virtual reality, some of them were highly interactive and video based. We were trying to find something that would be well supported by our telecommunications infrastructure, interesting to use and simple to operate. The HealthWise product met these criteria.

The response to the training has been phenomenal, the Fire Safety Training reached its 1000th user within the first 3 months. We use a total of 12 ComplyWise programs including The Administration of Medication and IV Access Training.”

The Trust's high quality services has been recognised once more at national level by major health service organisations.

Online with Learning (OWL) introduced by training and development to provide training opportunities for all staff electronically for the first time has won an Excellence in Strategic Human Resource Management Award.

The e-learning approach has enabled over 5,000 members of staff to complete mandatory training through their pcs at a time and pace which is most suitable to them. It has led to savings in staff time and has made training accessible to many more staff groups.
